Katie Daly’s Ireland Experiences

Visit the Emerald Isle, where you will encounter magical moments, memories to treasure and Irish experiences that you will want to return to again and again. When you explore Ireland, you will wander through lush green lands, tales of feuding dynasties hide behind crumbling Gothic architecture, ghostly tombs predate the pyramids; and Knights, Monks & Vikings loom large in incredible stories.

Few coasts have seen such comings and goings as the Irish coastline. The Irish Cliffs, harbors and beaches have been besieged by Vikings, visited by Titans of the Sea, and have welcomed world leaders and the Irish diaspora home.

Track inland and you will find fascinating histories too in the shape of isolated monasteries, riverside castles and some of the most beautiful gardens in the world. World renowned for our warm welcome and genuine sense of fun, Ireland boasts the best of both worlds, where history, culture and breathtaking scenery meet top facilities, world class entertainment and friendly people…

Irish Castles

You don’t have to look far to find a castle in Ireland. There are over 3000 dotted all over the island. They harbor tales of drama, mystery and violence making them a must to explore on your visit to Ireland.

Trim Castle Co Meath  –If you have seen the movie Braveheart then you have seen a glimpse of this castle. It was used as a location from the Mel Gibson movie for good reason. Overlooking the green fields of my home county of Meath the castle is magnetic in stance. The best way to visit is to get a guided tour but leave some time to enjoy the scenic grounds which are filled with interpretative panels for self guiding.

Blarney Castle Co CorkOne of the most famous castles on the island set in the glorious co cork countryside. The castle grounds hold a sense of history and mystery. It is of course where you will find one of Ireland’s quirkiest attractions the Blarney Stone which has been kissed by many on the promise of the magical “gift of the gab”. Have a go and see if it works if you dare but don’t forget to tour the magnificent gardens and Blarney House  -open to the public in the summer months.

Dunluce Castle Co AntrimThis castle boasts incredible panoramic views over the ocean thanks to its stunning local sitting at the tip of the Antrim coast. It was once home to the feuding Irish clans so holds many a tale of rebellion and disaster. According to local legend parts of the castle on a stormy night in 1639 fell into the ocean. If your lucky enough to visit at sunset you’ll be treated to one of the most beautiful sights in Ireland the sun smoldering into the ocean and the castle Walls Turing into silhouettes.

The many castles of Ireland are simply breathtaking and hold many tales of our land years ago. We also offer the opportunity to stay in some of Ireland’s 5 star Castle properties

Ireland In Season

Get set for four fabulous unique seasons in the island of Ireland. Contrary to belief it doesn’t always rain but it’s wise to take an umbrella just in case.

Spring –Spring is the perfect time to visit Ireland. Spring is all about the great outdoors and many of Ireland’s grandest estates open their magnificent gates after a long quiet winter. The island comes alive with colour in spring. The perfect time to visit mountains of county Kerry and the hills of donegal. Don’t forget that in the spring the island of Ireland really does turn fifty shades of green thanks to st Patrick’s day on March 17. Shamrocks take pride of place and the cities and towns proudly fly the Irish flag. The perfect time to enjoy the feel good vibes of Ireland and to join in on one of the most enjoyable festivals in Europe. Everyone is Irish for a day .

Summer –Probably the most popular season to visit Ireland. The villages and cities come alive with people from all over the world and the countryside shimmers with all shades of emerald green. Festivals erupt in Ireland over from the Taste of Dublin in co Dublin for food lovers to Seafest in co cork so there is always something to do to make the most of the endless summer days and nights.

Fall –Ireland in fall is absolutely beautiful and there is so much to see and do. The fall colors of burnished golds and flame reds take over from the 50 shades of green in summer and the country thrives in music, dance and culture. Fall can be a real treat in Ireland as places like Wicklow national park are breath taking to visit and much quieter than summer months and it’s the perfect time to go whale watching off the coast of west cork. Halloween has its roots in Ireland so October 31 is extra special here.

Winter –This is a season we do best in Ireland. With that in mind there is no better place to be than on the island of Ireland. You’ll find hundred thousand welcomes ( cead mile failte) everywhere you go you’ll hardly notice the cold . Winter is a great time to visit some of Ireland’s most popular sights, including the Giants causeway, the Carrick a rede rope bridge, the glorious cliffs of Moher and the Blarney Stone. Just make sure to pack your winter woollies. After time exploring the incredible sights a pint of Guinness or a fragrant hot whiskey by the fire in one of the traditional pubs is the perfect way to end the day with some Irish music almost guaranteed.
